Sergeant Randy White began his law enforcement career in 2003 with the Alvarado Police Department before joining the Bridgeport Police Department in 2004, where he served for five years. Known by fellow officers as a “prankster,” Sergeant White was an Oklahoma native who devoted his life to protecting the people of his community.

Sergeant White met his wife, Janet at a small church in Godley in 1999 after moving to Texas. He two were married in 2001, and together celebrated the birth of their daughter, Jadyn. Above all else, Sergeant White valued spending time with his family, especially four-wheeling and exploring the outdoors with his daughter. An outdoorsman at heart, White had a passion for woodworking and hunting. He was always an active member of his church and lived each day to serve God, his family and his community.

On Thursday April 2, 2009, Sergeant Randy White’s patrol vehicle was struck from behind by a suspect in a stolen vehicle being pursued by other officers. Sergeant White had been clearing Texas 114 of traffic ahead of the pursuit and had parked on the shoulder when his vehicle was struck and pushed into the back of a pickup truck hauling a trailer. Sergeant Randy White is survived by his wife, Janet; daughter, Jadyn; mother, Judy; father and stepmother, Dewayne and Lu; and siblings, Angie and Michael.
